How To Flawlessly Integrate Between Strategy & Execution?

Regardless of the sizes and industries, there's no secret that some successful organizations such as IKEA, Lego, and Natura can bridge the gap between strategy and execution.

Many leaders know that great strategies are only dreams if they failed during the execution.

A PwC survey around 2016 found that "over 50% of 4,400 senior executives said that they didn't think they had a winning strategy.

80% of over 500 senior executives said that their strategies were NOT well understood. Only 8% of 700 senior executives said that the top leaders of their enterprises excelled both strategy and execution.", (Leinwand, Mainardi, Kleiner, 2016).

The Strategy and execution must be well orchestrated to take the organizations to where they aim to go and achieve.

Lacking the ability to translate the ideal strategy into day-to-day operations is the key obstacle that makes the sound strategy fell flat during the execution process.

Many companies rely on leading management consulting organizations to guide them with strategies, while the execution may rely mainly on the internal team's capabilities.

It comes down to the fact, that if you don't understand the strategy well enough. You can't interpret it into practical operations either. This requires an organization to know its own business and focus on what you do best from the inside out.

There's nothing wrong to ask what it meant in terms of day-to-day operations, and if you can't figure it out on your own, brainstorm with your team and get the best out of your internal and external consulting teams.

Some consulting practices can provide services in co-ownership both strategy and execution. It depends on how you want to proceed. There's more than one path to achieve operational excellence and always strive ahead of your industry peers. We are here to help.

How about from your own experience?

Do you find it difficult to define the strategy that works for you?
How do you bridge the gap between your strategy and execution?

We would love to hear your thoughts.

I hope you have a great day.
